Overview
From rainy days to sunny weekends, Preston Hall Museum & Park holds something for everyone. Housed within Preston Hall, the Museum tells the story of the region from the Dark Ages to today, through regular exhibitions, period rooms and a recreated open-air Victorian Street. Take a stroll down the street and visit the working craftsmen in the forge, toymakers and print shops. Inside the museum look into period rooms from the 1880s to the 1960s and galleries which include the world-famous painting The Dice Players by George de la Tour.
Enjoy a coffee in the Victorian splendour of our newly restored Winter Garden, complete with a wide range of exotic plants to both admire and fear!
Explore over 100 acres of parkland overlooking the River Tees and relax in the beautiful green surroundings. Let the children run wild in the adventure playground or crazy golf, or take some time out in the Cafe Tees.
Follow our discovery routes and explore a haven for wildlife enthusiasts in Quarry Wood nature reserve. Introduce yourself to a magical world of colour in Butterfly World, or climb aboard our very own Miniature Steam Railway.
