Overview

The Waiting Room in Eaglescliffe is a popular, homely restaurant where satisfying honest-to-goodness food has been served for 23 years. New menus and recipes are created with every change of season, and dishes are naturally wholesome fresh and delicious. The Waiting room was declared "Best in the North East" in the 2007 Observer food awards and was cited for serving "excellent food" as well as hosting the acclaimed live music event night "Waiting for Sunday". In the 2008 Observer food awards The Waiting Room was voted amongst the top 40 restaurants in the UK. Also won the Best Restaurant in the UK Award 2008 from the Vegetarian Society.
