A festival that transforms the streets and public spaces of Stockton into an arena of outstanding shows from the large scale spectacular to intimate art experiences. Fringe adds one of the biggest music festival in the North, which firmly places it amongst the biggest free festivals in the country each summer.
Hartlepool will welcome a magnificent fleet of around 100 tall ships after being chosen by Sail Training International as finishing point for the race.
Stockton's waterfront is to be celebrated with a week-long series of events where everyone can join in with watersports and enjoy a giant spectacle with a flotilla of boats on the river. A unique annual water themed event will also take place as part of an international Rat Race series.
A series of winter markets and celebrations leading up until Christmas with main focus in the Towns of Middlesbrough and Stockton. ( Stockton sparkles and Middlesbrough’s Winter Festival)

Thousands turned out to see the first round of the British Kite Surfing and Kite Boarding Championships at Redcar beach. Around 100 competitors from across the UK descended on Tees Valley for what turned out to be one of the hottest weekends of the year and the crowds weren't disappointed.
