Explore some more of our area’s heritage with a trip to Kirkleatham Hall Museum. Here you’ll be able to learn all about the history of how people in the Tees Valley lived centuries ago with collections drawn from communities throughout the region. Children will also love the Kirkleatham Owl Centre situated in the grounds of the Hall.
This bird of prey centre is one of the most significant collections of owls in the British Isles. Falcons, buzzards, vultures, kites, caracaras, baby owls and flying displays.
St Cuthbert’s Church and Turner Mausoleum situated in Kirkleatham is also a must see for all history enthusiasts. A Palladian-style church, it was built in 1763 by local mason Robert Corney. The mausoleum pre-dates the church by 20 years and is an outstanding example of the work of James Gibbs.
Finish the day off nicely with a portion of Redcar’s finest fish and chips along the seafront and a Lemontop from Pacittos whilst enjoying the breathtaking coastal views.
