A delightful family owned hotel and restaurant sited at the foot of Roseberry Topping - “The Matterhorn of Cleveland” on the famous Cleveland Way.

Views from the top of Roseberry Topping are magnificent with scenery of North Yorkshire, the North East coastline, Captain Cook’s monument and the whole Tees Valley area.

Our individually designed luxurious en-suite bedrooms offer a ‘home from home’ feeling and are developed from a row of converted 17th C country cottages, oozing character and charm, with views of the local countryside and the village green. Each bedroom has been equipped with the latest guest facilities including king size beds, Nicam televisions, DVD/CD players, ironing centre units, hot beverage making facilities, direct dial telephones, free high speed Wi-fi internet connection for all hotel guests, heated towel rails and luxurious soft furnishings to name but a few. Many original features remain in our bedrooms such as low-beamed ceilings, Inglenook fireplaces and even cast iron cooking ranges!

Home cooked full English or continental style breakfasts are freshly prepared and served in our glass roof breakfast area with views towards Roseberry Topping and the surrounding countryside.

Situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park we are within easy reach of all attractions such as Captain Cook Country, the fishing ports of Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay, Heartbeat Country and the whole Tees Valley for shopping, sports and cultural interests - an ideal base from which to explore!

Our restaurant serves a variety of freshly produced food using high quality produce from within the local area. The restaurant is open both for lunch and evening meals, serving recommended high quality food. Our restaurant is currently the only restaurant in our area recommended by the Which? Guide.

Road Directions

From A19 take the A174 toward Redcar. On the A174 take the third exit for A172/A171, follow onto the A172 which leads onto A171. Follow signs to Newton-under-Roseberry (A173). We are in the centre of the village.

Public Transport Directions

From Great Ayton train station you will need a taxi (approx 4/5 minutes) travelling time.

Local bus station is in Middlesbrough and connecting buses are available daily.
