ON YER BIKE!

Thursday, 14th February 2008

Camerons Brewery is pleased to announce that it has become the main sponsor of the Cycle4life charity bike ride organised by Hartlepool Rotary Club. The event is now in its 5th year and has raised over £40,000 for the Hartlepool & District Hospice as well as other charities in the Hartlepool area.

"We are extremely happy to become the main sponsors of the Cycle4life bike ride in 2008" said Camerons Marketing Manager Yousef Doubooni.

"We are always looking to support local charities and events in the Hartlepool area and are delighted to be involved with this established event. Our aim is to encourage over 200 riders to participate in the ride in June and we will be entering a brewery team into the 52 mile route".

Race organiser Tom Pailor has been involved in the event from the first ride in 2003.

"For 2008 we are very pleased to announce some exciting changes, we are delighted to welcome on board our new main sponsors Camerons who plan to make the event more challenging and successful than ever. Two targets have been set, to attract 200 riders or more on the day and raise over £10,000 on the ride.

We hope to achieve this by moving the event centre to the Headland of Hartlepool, with registration being at the Borough Hall. Cyclists will start and finish the ride here and the safe and traffic free Hartlepool Promenade will feature in the route to ensure an even more traffic free route than in previous years" said Tom.

The ride will take place on Sunday 22nd June. There are 4 routes this year a 3 mile 'Cycle Tots' ride, 12-mile families, 27-mile leisure and 52-mile enthusiasts route.
