Jools Holland has announced that the critically acclaimed singer and songwriter Marc Almond will join him on stage when he performs at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Wednesday 14 May 2008.
Marc first came to the public's attention as one half of the electro duo Soft Cell in the early 1980s; their biggest hit, Tainted Love, was number one all over the world and is in the Guinness Book of Records as spending the longest time in the U.S. Top 100. Marc re-recorded his song Say Hello Wave Goodbye with Jools in 2001 for the platinum-selling Friends album.
Returning to the Town Hall after over 10 years Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra will take to the main stage on Wednesday 14 May 2008 at 8.00pm.
The sensational pianist and front man will perform with his 18-piece Rhythm and Blues Orchestra featuring drummer Gilson Lavis (ex Squeeze Drummer) and the magnificent guest soloists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.
'Having Marc performing alongside Jools and the band adds another dimension to the evening. We are really excited about the addition to the already exceptional line-up. The night promises to be one to remember.'
