AMBASSADORS FOR STOCKTON WANTED

Thursday, 8th May 2008

The search is on for people to act as Cultural Ambassadors during the Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival (30th July - 3rd August).

Tees Music Alliance is launching a two year Volunteer Development Programme aimed at inspiring local people to work and to volunteer by encouraging their talent and promoting their creativity. Getting involved with the festival is just one of many planned activities.

The Programme, called The Cultural Retreat involves confidence building, motivation, problem solving, time management and mentoring training. It will also give participants an insight into technical aspects of the music business.

Those completing the programme can achieve an accredited 'Arts Award' (bronze level) and the chance to become a Cultural Ambassador at the annual music festival, meeting, greeting and helping the tens of thousands of visitors which it brings to Stockton each year.

The project is open to all but is focused on those currently unemployed and wishing to enhance their employability. The Cultural Retreat is funded by One North East, Tees Music Alliance and Smart Progress and is supported local and national musicians, businesses and specialists from cultural industries.

Further information on the programme call Tees Music Alliance on 01642 633817
