The Woodland country park is the ideal centre from which to explore the countryside south of Middlesbrough. There are circular walks, spectacular views and fascinating history to be discovered just minutes away from the centre of the town. You can learn about the history and wildlife of the country park from the exhibitions within the visitor centre or by taking part in one of the many organised events and guided walks organised by the countryside wardens. Facilities include car park, toilets, picnic site, countryside warden service and guided walks and events. Groups welcome.

Nearest major road is A171. Travelling from the east turn right onto Flatts Lane. Travelling from the west turn left onto Flatts Lane. Follow road down bank, a sharp left turn takes you into country park car park.
Nearest station is Nunthorpe Station. On leaving station follow road past shops until you reach roundabout. Turn left down bank. Follow 1st bridleway on right which leads into country park.
