Shopping in the Tees Valley is as diverse and varied as the landscape.
Designer shopping is best found in the cosmopolitan town of Yarm, the Imperial Quarter in Darlington and along Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough also home to the award winning Psyche desiger department store. All consist of a parade of chic independent boutiques with an array of desirable eating establishments to revive and refresh.
Yarm was voted the UK's best high street by BBC News viewers, with its perfect balance of charming old-fashioned specialist shops, alongside trendy boutiques and convienience for the 21st century shopper. Darlington's Imperial Quarter is not only a haven for designers shoppers, but close to weekly markets and and the characteristic Yards and Wynds for speciality wine and cheeses, art and much more.
Popular high street shopping is plentiful in Tees Valley, with a huge selection of favourite brands available in all of the towns, with both indoor and outdoor shopping centres, allowing you to shop whatever the weather.
At the other end of the acale are the markets held weekly at North Ormesby in Middlesbrough, Guisborough, Redcar, Stockton and Darlington and specialist monthly farmers markets at Nature's World, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton, Pinchinthorpe Hall and Guisborough.
