Middleton-One-Row is situated to the east of Darlington, just north of the River Tees. The village originally consisted of a single row of houses on the north side of the village green, giving the village its name.
It is now an attractive Darlington village, close to nearby Durham Tees Valley Airport and features as one of the walks in the 'walk the Darlington way ...' guide, taking in attractive Dinsdale Wood, once home to the Old Spa House, now converted into attractive residential properties. At nearby Low Dinsdale see the church of St John the Baptist, dating back to AD638.
The Devonport Hotel, on The Front, has an enviable village green location and overlooks the River Tees from which its Riverside Restaurant takes its name.
Road Directions
From A1 (M) South take junction 57. At 2nd roundabout take 5th exit (A167 Northallerton).
From A1 (M) North take junction 59. Follow signs for A167 Darlington. Travel through Darlington, following signs for A167 South to Northallerton.
Public Transport Directions
Take the Arriva bus service 74 to Middleton-One-Row from Darlington town centre.
