Signature signs up for Mega Mela!

Last year’s Britain’s Got Talent runners-up have signed up to perform at Middlesbrough Mela on Sunday, July 19 in Albert Park.

Signature Signature consists of two young men Suleman Mirza and Madhu Singh who base their act around Michael Jackson songs mixed in with British Bhangra.

They combine Jacko’s lyrics and style of dancing with traditional bhangra beats and punjabi folk dance in a comedy ‘dance-off’ routine that brings with it a standing ovation whenever they perform.

Middlesbrough Mela main stage programmer Kash Patel said: “Their act is contemporary yet traditional, funny yet serious and brings together both east and western popular cultures.

“Such is the parody of their performance it has earned the boys global appeal and I’m delighted to announce they will be just one of the acts performing on the main stage alongside many others.

“2009 is going to be a fabulous year for the Mela with some massive names performing live on stage both from the national and international music circuit!”

Since appearing on the popular Britain’s Got Talent show, Signature have had a whirlwind year and have performed around the globe, working with A-list superstars including Beyonce, Leona Lewis and the King of Pop himself Michael Jackson.

They were recently offered a six-figure deal to be the face of Virgin Media for its Bollywood on demand service and have had many TV appearances on numerous channels.
