Learn more about art at mima (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art) or roll up your sleeves for arts and crafts workshops at Darlington Arts Centre.
For naval adventure, visit the multi award-winning Hartlepool's Maritime Experience - a life sized reconstruction of a Napoleonic Seaport and the oldest warship afloat in the UK - the HMS Trincomalee. Or close to Saltburn's Pier and Cliff Lift you'll find the Saltburn Smugglers Heritage Centre, set in authentic fisherman's cottages. Or why not come aboard a full size replica of Captain Cook's ship HM Bark Endeavour, found moored on Stockton's riverside.
