In June, Middlesbrough plays host to one of the best free music festivals in the country - Middlesbrough Music Live. Watch well-known and up and coming bands perform on numerous stages across the town centre.

The National Trust's Ormesby Hall and ancient Gisborough Priory provide a spectacular backdrop for a variety of exciting live summer events. Grab a picnic and Pimms for a night of classical music or pull on those flares to relive the music of the 70's. Alternatively enjoy live music and real ale at Darlington's impressive open-air Rhythm n Brews festival.

At night the town centres of the Tees Valley come alive, infamous bars and clubs pulsate with the help of top DJ's, to the sounds of the latest music. Live music can be also be found in venues across the region, including Darlington's Forum Music Centre, the Arc at Stockton, Studio at Hartlepool and Middlesbrough's Town Hall and former Empire Theatre
