If you love water sports, Tees Valley has three purpose-built centres along the River Tees offering a range of activities from white waering rafting, canoeing, paddle sports, sailing and power boating. Visit the Victorian spa town of Saltburn where we have the only Surf School on the east coast to be British Surf School registered, or enjoy a day out fishing, on the River Tees, or along miles of coastline at Hartlepool, Saltburn and Redcar.

For those who prefer dry land, walkers and cyclists can enjoy our breathtaking scenery, from leisurely strolls to competitive events from 10 -100 mile trails.

Prefer to spectate? Redcar and Sedgefield racecourses hold some of the UK's key race meetings. Look out for the Zetland Gold Cup or the Summer tea party at Redcar; a day of racing accompanied by a sophisticated afternoon of cream teas and live jazz. Top class motor sport can be found at Croft Circuit in Darlington and Premiership football at the Riverside Stadium - home to Middlesbrough Football Club.
